Sea Lion pups are born on a rookery, which is where sea lions breed. Theyre looked after by their mother, who doesnt leave them for the first couple of weeks. During this time, she wont eat. After 15 days, she will then go out to sea to hunt for food. Before the hunt, all the mothers gather their pups and create a daycare nursery. No pup is ever left alone. When the pups grow up, theyll become incredible swimmers with torpedo-shaped bodies and powerful flippers.
